Introduction to trad climbing
Experience the thrill and freedom of climbing without bolts.
This training is aimed at climbers who are already autonomous in outdoor sport climbing.
Prepare to tackle the challenges of traditional climbing with a certified instructor.
You will learn how to:
- Use different types of cams and nuts
- Build anchors using gear
- Place gear correctly
- Manage risks in traditional climbing
- Lead climb with traditional protection
- Perform basic self-rescue maneuvers
- Overcome fear
Few things compare to the sense of autonomy and freedom that traditional climbing provides.
The course will be offered only once or twice per season, with 6 spots available.
All equipment is provided.

2 days, 9am to 5pm

250$ + tx
Number of participants
4 to 6 participants
If the number of participants is insufficient, the course will be converted into a one-day private lesson (1 instructor for 2 participants) or will be postponed
Cancellation/Refund Policy
In the event of a cancellation and refund request by the client, a 10% transaction fee will apply.
Weather conditions
Some outings may be postponed in the case of bad weather.

Western CWM
This site primarily offers sport climbing, with a small, easier traditional climbing wall located on the left side. The main wall is 25 meters high and features several moderately difficult routes that have been bolted, making it perfect for taking your first steps in rock climbing.
LoneStar
Ideal for introducing friends to rock climbing or making your first steps in traditional climbing, LoneStar will satisfy all climbers looking to learn something new.
Home Cliff
Located just a 10-minute walk from Venturing Hills Farm, it is the perfect destination for climbing activities during their day camp. The site features several moderate routes, primarily traditional. It is possible to set up a top-rope by following a trail that leads to the top of the wall.
Calabogie
A wonderful crag, very popular, with hundreds of routes to offer, covering all styles and levels. The site is well-equipped and well-maintained. There is a fee for parking.
